Journal Governance

Editorial Policies

Paranalar International Journal of Communication (PIJoC) applies editorial policies designed to maintain academic integrity, transparency, fairness, and scholarly quality throughout the publication process. These policies guide authors, reviewers, editors, and readers in understanding the journal's editorial standards and publication practices.

Review Process

Peer Review Policy

All research manuscripts submitted to PIJoC are evaluated through a peer-review process. The editorial team first conducts an initial screening to assess relevance to the journal's scope, scholarly quality, originality, and compliance with submission requirements.

Manuscripts that pass editorial screening are sent to qualified reviewers with relevant expertise. Editorial decisions are based on reviewer recommendations, scholarly merit, methodological quality, originality, clarity, and contribution to communication studies.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently and are based on academic merit, relevance, originality, methodological soundness, and ethical compliance. Decisions are not influenced by commercial interests, institutional affiliations, personal relationships, or non-academic considerations.

Publication Ethics

PIJoC is committed to responsible scholarly publishing. Authors are expected to submit original work, provide accurate attribution, disclose relevant conflicts of interest, and avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, and other forms of research misconduct.

Plagiarism and Originality

Submitted manuscripts must represent original scholarly work. PIJoC may use plagiarism-detection tools as part of editorial screening. Manuscripts with substantial unattributed overlap, inappropriate reuse, or other originality concerns may be rejected or returned to authors for clarification.

Conflict of Interest

Authors, editors, and reviewers are expected to disclose relationships or interests that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research, review process, or editorial decision. Where necessary, editorial responsibilities will be reassigned to preserve impartiality.

Authorship and Contributions

Authorship should reflect meaningful scholarly contributions to the work. All listed authors should approve the submitted manuscript and accept responsibility for their contributions. Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.

Corrections, Retractions, and Editorial Action

PIJoC may issue corrections, clarifications, expressions of concern, retractions, or other editorial notices when necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record. Decisions are based on the nature and seriousness of the issue and available evidence.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts and related editorial correspondence are treated as confidential materials during review. Editors and reviewers should not disclose, distribute, or use unpublished information obtained through the editorial process for personal advantage.

Editorial Principle

Integrity, Fairness, and Transparency

PIJoC seeks to maintain an editorial process that is transparent, academically rigorous, fair to authors and reviewers, and responsive to concerns about research and publication integrity.
